At the time of its launch, according to their marketing Rolex intended it to be a significant new direction and obtain a prominent position in their line. Despite its interesting look, it was a sales disappointment for Rolex and never became the de facto standard for a dressier Oyster Perpetual, although as is often the case with unsuccessful models, today their somewhat limited production numbers make them sought after by collectors.
Our Zephyr is in all original condition. Its watertight Oyster case is near mint. The Zephyr dial is just short of mint and shows only very slight aging. And it comes on its original Rolex USA Jubille bracelet.
